IDON'TGIVEUP NGL we both are kind of screwed. I'm in the same boat, now trying to try for year 10 entry for Melbourne high school and JMSS. The main thing they want to see in your application is your extra curriculars, co-curriculars and leadership roles you have done from this year and the year before. If you are a high achieving athlete (state or above) or a high skilled musician WRITE THAT DOWN ON YOUR APPLICATION. Additionally, have proof of your achievements, for example a signed written testimonies from your teachers on some activities that you did or photocopies of certificates and awards.
If you barely got anything, like me, I highly recommend trying your hardest on the personal statement segment. Try to use the schools website to your advantage, and properly express yourself for who you are and why the school should have you in the cohort, if its from your versatility, adaptiveness or wanting to be in a leadership role for that school.
Me personally I have ZERO actual curricular awards or medals, all only academic. But some of the curriculars I have written for my application were: school ambassador for secondary, assisted in community soccer events or a newly established community club, and head director for my media clubs film final for the year.
I have heard from other people that the test is actually a little bit easier this year than when we did it in year 8 and its run by EDUTEST, so do not get so worked up about it, just stay consistent in your practice test and revise on all topics, also READ books or articles. For interview questions I have been reading archived ATAR notes messages from years ago, just search "Selective school year 10 entry interview" and there would be a conversation on what usually goes on.

Thanks for replying it made me want to try harder to get in this year even though we are low on time (24 days left ) and the same here i hope we can see each other if we end up getting into MHS or JMSS. By chance do you have any resources or your schedule for studying? I am serious about getting in but I tend to get distracted by eg(YouTube, TikTok, and anime things that distract anyone easily) my pdf and study YouTube videos are on my laptop so how do you mean to stop getting easily distracted so any tips.

If you truly have the desire to get in than miscellaneous hinderances shouldn't affect you

Make sure you know topics like hyperbolas, parabolas, logariths, and permutations
IDON'TGIVEUP If you can't help with your social media distractions at least try to use those platforms to make you learn something instead of consuming garbage. For example I watch math and science Youtube videos in my leisure time, with actually have taught me a lot on math concepts and formulas and other science topics and how they were formed. Still highly recommended to keep it at a minimum though.
The only resource I look at daily is probably the online copy of "1100 words you should know" which I got the free pdf. Incredibly helpful for my vocabulary. Also by any chance if you could tell me what you got last year in your selective school results, if you do not want to share I completely understand. Well last year I got 1 high above average in Numerical reasoning and 4 above averages in the rest.
IDON'TGIVEUP bro it’s pretty much the same test as last year, except this time it’s edutest so it might be a bit easier. Calm down, and just grind for the next few weeks, you will make it in. Just study whatever you studied last year and u should be fine
